Day 07

Day 07 - A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you.


UNCG Campus Crusade for Christ has had the biggest impact on my life thus far. I've grown so much closer with the Lord in the 1.5 years that I've been a part of this incredible, fast-growing organization. God is using CRU for big things on this campus, and I'm so glad to be able to be a part of it!

I guess I've always been a fan of the Incredible Hulk. I've said it before, but I like that he's a super manly man yet definitely has a sensitive side. I'm a sucker for boys that produce tears ;)

Although I would like to consider myself to be adventurous, my list of locations that I've been to is rather short. Last summer, I spent some time in Mexico.

Day 04

Day 04 - A habit that you wish you didn’t have.


I bite my nails like whoa. It's a nervous/ anxious habit, and a rather annoying one as well. I've done it for as long as I can remember, and I've tried to stop more times than I can count. One day...

Tag, I'm it!

The Frisky Virgin tagged me in her last note :) I could read her blog every single day for the rest of forever and be perfectly content. So here we go...

1. Do you believe in fate? Why or why not?
Well, fate is defined as "an event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future". I
believe that everything that is going to happen has already been pre-planned, while I do stil
believe in free will. We make the choice, but ultimately, our choice is already known. I suppose I answered that correctly?


2. If you could marry/date a supernatural being/superhero, who/what would it be and why?
I would totally marry the Incredible Hulk. I've always really liked him. He super huge and macho, yet he's totally got a sensitive side. If a guy can cry or some any type of vulnerable emotion, I'm sold for forever :)

3. Which one: Harry Potter or Twilight? Why?
Is it bad if I answer neither. I've honestly never really been into either. I've never read Harry Potter or Twilight, I have however seen 2 HP movies, while I've never seen any Twilight. I hope this doesn't make me a weirdo, I just don't tend to jump on bandwagons unless I really feel compelled :)

4. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
NIGHT OWL, for sure. I hate mornings. They are the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I could stay up until 3:00am and never once complain.


5. You have three wishes that will come true. What are they?
* To get through school in 4 years, flat. No more, no less. Actually, less would be nice, but seriously, no more.
*To never ever have to take a shower again, yet remain squeaky clean at all times. Seriously, showering is the biggest waste of time. You get in the shower, get all wet, and then have to work hard to become presentable again. Maybe it's just that I have ridiculously thick hair, requiring 30 minutes to dry, but showering is not my favorite for real.
*To lead worship somewhere. I seriously think that might be the coolest thing ever.


6. What is your favorite: a. Classic film; b. Romantic comedy film; c. Fantasy film; and d. Animated film
B- A Romantic comedy film is the way to my heart. The Proposal, He's Just Not That Into You, The Waitress, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Ugly Truth, and Up In The Air are some of my favorites, just to name a few :) Oh goodness, it kind of makes me want to go watch a movie now.


7. What is your favorite kind of music?
I'm partial to Contemporary Christian Music. I love Audrey Assad, David Crowder, Jars of Clay, Chris Tomlin, things like that. I tend to stay away from any other type of music, only because music and lyrics and songs tend to have more of an effect on me than say, awful movies (see above).

Day 02 - The meaning behind your BLOGGER name.

"Renewed day by day" means just that. Every single day I have to surrender my life over to the One
who created me. After all, He's the reason I'm alive. My purpose on this Earth is to glorify Him, so each day requires a daily renewal that He so graciously gives because He is so merciful. I can't do it on my
own, but He's willing to help me out.


"Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.

Day 01

Day 01 - A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself.

Despite the quality, this is one of my most favorite
pictures taken by my grandfather of my gorgeous baby
sister and I on my birthday last month :)

1. I am so blessed: an awesome schools, awesome Christian friends, an awesome family that supports me in every way, yeah. That pretty much sums it up.

2. God has given me a ridiculously huge passion and love for people with disabilities (specifically Down Syndrome). I not sure why he chose me of all people, but he did and I'm so thankful for the call that he has placed on my life.

3. I'm from a little town right next to Charlotte called Harrisburg. Although there's nothing to do when I'm there and sometimes I get the feeling that I'm 'trapped', I seriously love it and miss it when I don't live there.

4. I'm in love with carpet, like for real. I'll take carpeted flooring over hardwood in every single room of my future home any day.

5. I just started reading "Praise Habit" by David Crowder last night. Oooh baby.

6. I definitely want to be a mom one day. Originally, I wanted 5-6 kids. Now I'm down to 3. I guess you could say I'm becoming more 'realistic'.

7. I' m a Special Education major. I came into college with that major and I have every intention of graduating with that same major in a grand total of 4 years. I'm thankful to not have any doubts about that.

8. Fall is my most favorite season of all. I'm so glad that I'm beginning to see glimpses of it.

9. I have a wonderful boyfriend, Jared. He lives 1.5 hours away at NC State in Raleigh. Although I miss him like crrrazy, I'm content in knowing that God has big plans for each of us in our own separate places and I wouldn't have it any other way.

10. Lamentations 3:22-23 is my favorite.

11. I have one younger sister. She's seriously the best. She's everything I wish I could have been when I was a junior in high school. When I grow up, I want to be her.

12. I love having deep spiritual conversations about life and the Lord.

13. I think sunrises and sunsets are two of the most beautiful things. God is seriously the best artist.

14. I love to travel. I want to go all over the world throughout my life. Italy, Ireland, France, Brazil, the Ivory Coast, Kenya, just to name a few.

15. I'm obsessed with weddings. I already have my wedding planned. I may not know the date, but goodness, I'm already really excited about it.

Less of me, more of You.

I've written about humility before. I learned a lot about humility over the summer through various experiences. I've learned that being 'humble' is a daily process. Not just something that can be achieved and then checked off the list as complete. Obtaining true humility, in my opinion, is completely impossible. No matter how close we get, we're human. We're proud people, seeking humility by the grace of God. Key word: seeking, never completely obtaining.

Louie Giglio writes about humility in his book "I am not, but I know I AM". Although I'm a die hard John Piper fan, Louie definitely comes in as a close second. He explains humility like this:

"Humility is the instant resizing of me that occurs with just one eyeful of His majesty. True humility (not the false kind that ends up being about us at the end of the day) is not a sign of weakness, failure, or inability, but rather a sign that we are getting to know God and have glimpsed His glory. And once we see how glorious His glory really is, we realize that all other glory is futile and fading, and totally inconsequential in the grand scheme of things."

Just reading that, along with the rest of the chapter for that matter, humbles me really fast. In the grand scheme of eternity, I am so minuscule compared to the greatness and sovereignty of the Lord (and that is even an understatement). Whether I worship Him or not, it's not going to change His goodness and graciousness and holiness. He's still all of those things. He doesn't need me, but He wants me, and He desires to have a relationship with me in spite of it all.

C.S. Lewis sums it up when he says:
‎"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

Yep. I'm learning. It's cool. It's a pretty incredible place to be.
